» Cartagena

The Caribbean coastal city of Cartagena has been immaculately preserved within 13km of centuries old stonewalls. The maze of cobbled alleys snake below enormous balconies shrouded in bougainvillea and lead to delightful plazas lined with restaurants and churches.
Founded some 476 years ago, Cartagena is one of the most beautiful cities in the Americas and a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is colourful, warm and exotic with imposing Spanish colonial architecture, castles and fortresses.
Apart from the copious amounts of rum and salsa, the culture of the Caribbean coast is very different from the rest of Colombia but equally as vibrant and enchanting. The sensual atmosphere of the streets of Cartagena’s Old Town can be experienced day or night, and the numerous fine bars that line the sea facing ocean walls are one the best spots in the world to enjoy a sun set and a cocktail or two.
