» Santa Marta

Santa Marta is South America’s oldest surviving city and the continents primary natural port. The city is receiving some appealing makeovers on its faded but still beautiful colonial architecture. The surrounding area is home to an incredible diversity of landscapes and beaches decorated by the snow on top the world’s highest seaside snow capped summit.
This mystic and majestic land is the ancestral grounds of the Arhuacos and the Kogis; indigenous groups that guard the secrets of a lost city in the thick green vegetation of the Sierra Nevada.
With all the vivid colours, joyfulness and rhythms of the Caribbean, Santa Marta is a rustic version of Cartagena with fewer tourists but still plenty of character.
